Georgana Collins, RN and Administrator of Hanson Services’ Sun City Center office in Florida, is taking some initiative to help with the shortage of available protective masks! She and her staff are sewing their own masks for caregivers to use when they care for their clients.
While you may hear that it’s not necessary for people who are not infected to wear masks, it is wise to have any added protections when you are caring for an older person. Hanson clients are among some of the most vulnerable of the population and anything that cuts down on contact during home care is helpful. As we run short on available masks of all types, home made masks may become even more important. Thank you Georgana, to you and your staff, for stepping up to be part of the solution!
